3D Printing Technology

In recent years, with the penetration of the science and technology in the social filed. An increasing number of new technologies are rising up. 3D printing technology is one of technologies that are recently accepted by more and more people. And it is also with a wide range of application prospects.

3D printing is a process of making a three dimensional solid object of virtually any shape from a digital model. It is achieved using an additive process, where successive layers of material are laid down in different shapes.  3D printing is considered distinct from traditional machine techniques, which mostly rely on the removal of material by methods such as cutting or drilling.

The technology is used for both prototyping and distributed manufacturing in jewelry, footwear, industrial design, architecture, engineering and construction (AEC), automotive, aerospace, dental and medical industries, education, geographic information, systems, civil engineering, and many other fields.

3D printing is a form of additive manufacturing technology where a three dimensional object is created by laying down successive layers of material. This rapid prototyping is a mechanized method where by 3D objects are quickly made on reasonably sized machine connected to a computer containing blue prints for the objects. 3D printers are machines that produce physical 3D models from digital data by printing layer by layer. It can make physical models of objects either designed with a CAD program or scanned with a 3D scanner. When you want to get a model which you need, the detailed process is explained below. The model to be manufactured is built up a layer at a time. A layer of powder is automatically deposited in the model tray. The print head then applies resin in the shape of the model. The layer dries solid almost immediately. The model tray then moves down the distance of a layer and another layer of power is deposit in position in the model tray. The print head again applies resin in the shape of the model, binding it to the first layer. This sequence occurs one layer at a time until the model is completed.

What’s more? 3D printing technology is currently being studied by biotechnology firms and academia for possible use in tissue engineering applications where organs and body parts are built using inkjet techniques. Layers of living cells are deposited on to a gel medium and slowly built up to form three dimensional structures.

3D printing technology represents the new trend of development of the manufacturing industry, it and other digital production mode, the emergence of would be to push the third industrial revolution. With the improving of the production speed and quality as well as the output device that prints and improvement of the material, there will be more and more 3D printing new product appear constantly. 3D printing can do a lot of things now look stance, in some ways. A lot of thought to the things, can be obtained by 3D printing directly. 3D printing in the future are likely to walk into our lives, like computers.
